TODAY’S SELECTIONS

TRIPLER

14.00 – Exeter – Gustavian. Flippin’ heck. A mixture of everything I don’t like in this one! A large field (17 runners) and the dreaded hurdles. I calculated that if I do a Split bet & it wins, I win on both elements of the bet & it’s Job Done. If it only places, I make a small loss to carry on to Race 2. SPLIT.

16.00 – Exeter – Prime Venture. Only 3 runners so no Place market. Ours fell last time out but will have learned from it & it looks in top shape. WIN.

17.45 – Newcastle – Majestic Sands. A 5 furlong dash. Ours was a previous winner & also drops down in grade, so looking very positive. WIN.

Same again. 10% of Bank with a stop at 2.5% profit. (Or near as dammit without risking another 10%.)

Today’s the day guys. I can feel it in my water.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

13.30 – Newcastle – Black Abbey. I went for a SPLIT. It was beaten into 2nd place.

14.50 – Kempton – Amarillo Star. Again, I chose SPLIT & was beaten into 2nd place by a superior animal.

17.25 – Wolverhampton – Rideson. My 3rd SPLIT of the day and again, it came 2nd.

OBAD

Because I went for a Split bet & it came 2nd, I had a TINY loss. Better than losing my full stake on a Win bet.

TRIPLER

3 x 2nd places gave me a TINY profit. If only 1 of the 3 had won, it would have been a nice day’s “work.”

RATCHET

2 x 2nd places gave me a really good return of over 7%. I stopped betting after Race 2.

Overall, a profit today. Not much but then again, I’m not greedy. All in all,a bit of a nothing too great day, but as I always say, a small profit is better than a small loss.
