Sunday 19th January 2020 + Summary

TODAY’S SELECTIONS

13.15 – Ayr – Escaria Ten. Ours is in good form & is the favourite. WIN.

13.50 – Ayr – Dali Mail. Only 5 runners although ours is favourite by a whisker. It has an excellent write up so I’m going for a WIN.

15.20 – Thurles – Elimay. I thought Thurles was in France! Sounds like it should be. Elimay is our selection. I hope ours runs as well as her namesake looked in the Beverly Hillbillies. I just hope it hasn’t eaten too much of Granny’s chitlins & crawdads. I’m going for another WIN.

Here’s to a good day today guys. The sun’s breaking through in sunny Bolton. (Or has someone just set fire to the Council Tip?) Good luck.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

12.40 – Ascot – Goshen. Only 5 runners. WIN.  The horse won which meant I hit target on Tripler so no more betting for me on that system.

14.05 – Haydock – Thebannerkingrebel. The horse with the stupid name. Only 4 runners and ours was clear favourite. Ours came 3rd!. This was the OBAD selection so a loss on OBAD. This horse racing malarkey sure is weird.

15.35 – Ascot – Defi Du Seuil. I thought this was a bit tricky. 4 runners & ours is almost exactly the same odds as Un De Sceaux. The horse won.

OBAD – A loss. Looking forward to tomorrow to set things straight.

TRIPLER – A win which is very nice. Should only take a few days to get back on track.

RATCHET – Race 1 won, Race 2 was where the pudding of a horse came 3rd so lost. Race 3 won, so somewhat of a recovery, but an overall loss.

Hi Rob, I am new to this platform and its my day 1. I was going through your earlier selections and have found below two words used regularly.
    OBAD and RATCHET
Can you please let me know what that means? Sorry for asking silly questions.

Hi Rakesh. If you look under “Tools”2 you should see “Platinum Staking Worksheet”. There is an article under “daily Use” about how to use it or read the text under Mighty Tosh in Club Betting.

OBAD = One Bet A Day

Ratchet simply means you base you stakes on your highest bank. Say your bank is £500 after a series of wins. If the next bet loses, you still use the £500 high water mark to calculate stakes. You continue to do so until the bank hits a new high. For example, after 2 losses, another series of wins takes you bank to £505, this new high is used to calulate stakes until a new high is set.

    Hi Dr Rob,
I’m a new starter and looking at the method there is no recommendation as to what the betting stakes should be for the first bets. Is there any information or techniques recommended that gives an explanation, thank you.

Hi Steven. I can’t tell you how much to start with as it’s your money. However, I use a spreadsheet designed by Gavin’s guys which is available if you click “HRP Reward Store” top left of the page. This works out everything for you automatically but you have to either pay a bit for it or read how you can get it free, To start with, if you go to “Tools” (top right) & click Platinum Staking Worksheet & download it. I will use a starting bank – to make it as easy as possible – of £100. The settings I use are:
      Bank – £100
      Minimum Points – 3
      Point Value – £1.00
      Target – 2.5%
Min odds for a Place Bet – 1.90
If you lose, increase stake by 1 point.
After a win >2.0, decrease next stake by 2 points. (Always a 3 point minimum.)
      After a win between 1.68 & 1.99, decrease by 1 point.
After a win <1.67 keep stake (points) the same.
If you have a series of losses, STOP at a loss of 7 points.
Split Bet – Usually a minimum 4 point stake split 25% for Win & 75% Place.
      I hope this helps.
