Friday 14th February 2020 + Summary

TODAY’S SELECTIONS

TRIPLER

14.10 – Fakenham – Greaneteen. Only 3 runners & ours is hot favourite. WIN.

14.35 – Lingfield – Emraan. Only 5 runners. Ours is at the top with Plantadream. Plantadream won on its’ 1st outing & is set to improve. This looks a dangerous opponent so I’m going for a SPLIT. ** I’ve changed my mind. HRP software has given this a score of 70 so I’m going for a WIN. (Although the SPLIT is extremely tempting, bearing in mind just how close the betting is on the top 2 horses.)

16.20 – Fakenham – Shantou Flyer. A class act. (Plus I’ve actually heard of this horse.) It’s his 1st run for nearly a year but should have the class to pull it off. WIN.

OBAD

See 16.20 above.

RATCHET

10% Bank Stake as always.

Please note: these posts are my initial thoughts. If things change during the day, it is possible that I will change my strategy.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

16.30 – Leicester – Kashmir Peak. Result – 3rd

18.30 – Chelmsford – Grandee Daisy. Result – 2nd.

19.00 – Chelmsford – Solar Heights. Result – 1st.

TRIPLER

In Race 1, although our selection was favourite, the odds were quite high. Given that the Place odds were also correspondingly high, I knew a split bet would give me a decent profit even if the horse came 2nd or 3rd. I opted for a SPLIT bet and because it obliged by finishing 3rd, it gave me a decent profit of a fraction over 2%.

This gave me a bit of a dilemma. Do I stop betting for the day and be mega cautious after hitting just under my target, or do I carry on to Race 2? I looked at the odds and they were in excess of 10.0 for the win and 3.2 for the place. Definitely not a fancied runner. If it did win, even on a split bet, my profits would be astronomical. However, my calculations said that even if it only placed, I would beat my target by a handsome margin. At these odds, should I carry on? I decided that because I was already up for the day, if the horse lost, I wouldn’t lose too much. Also, I reckoned that the software the HRP guys have built is so good, there must be a reason that a horse with win odds of 10.0 has been chosen. I went for the SPLIT. The horse came 2nd after a terrific run and gave me a wonderful return for the day. The software showed “Job Done” so no more Tripler bets today. My biggest percentage win since joining HRP – a whopping 9.54% for the day. Beat that if you can, Halifax!

RATCHET

Race 1 was an instant win, finishing in 3rd place. A profit of 8.50%. Unbelievable.

OBAD

Just to cap a magnificent day’s racing, Solar Heights came in 1st, generating a lovely 4.37% profit for the day.

This has been the biggest day, profit-wise, since I joined HRP. I was extremely dubious about putting a bet on a horse with win odds of over 10 but I know the dedication the HRP guys have put in to creating their software, there had to be a reason it selected the horses, even at high odds. These guys certainly know what they are doing. A big THANK YOU to Gav and his team.

Hi Steve. This is what I do when betting on the Ratchet system:
I have a spreadsheet on which I log – Date, Time, Course, Horse, Stake, Odds, Result, P/L, P/L for the day, % of Bank +/- for the day, P/L since starting, New Bank, % of Bank +/- Since starting.

I fill in all the 3 selections then work out the 10% Bank Stake.
I put this stake on the 1st horse of the 3 on the PLACE market.
If it wins, I need to know what the %profit is. If it’s over 2.5% I stop betting. I often stop if it is quite near to 2.5%.
If the odds for the Place are very low, sometimes I won’t risk a bet, especially if jumps are involved as the horse may be streets ahead with 1 jump to go & the bugger then goes & trips up.
If I lose, I NEVER drop my 10% stake to the new, lower Bank amount. I always keep it at the amount that I last used. (In this way, your stake can only stay as it is if it loses, or goes up if it wins.)
    Hope this is OK.
