18th June 2021 + Doc’s Fav Goldmine + Summary

** House Notes** Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch a Live Feed of the race or “watch” the race in real-time at Betfair. **

For Tripler, OBAD, and Ratchet, I use the 3 selections generated by the HRP software, assess each one, and then say what I am going to do. Obviously, you can make your own decisions as to what you think the outcomes will be. Sometimes, the result of a previous race will dictate whether I stick with my predictions or not.

My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is coming along nicely and I have had several winners on the spin. My small stakes are increasing in size, due to a constant supply of winning selections 🙂 My DFG Bank is now really building nicely. As it’s 10% of the Betting Bank, any losses do hit hard but have always caught up rapidly before moving ahead again.

I stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy, and many times, when just under my target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.

It’s your call as to whether you take the early odds, hoping they will then go down, or wait until nearer the off hoping the odds have increased. The key thing to remember is a winner (or winners) at odds totaling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank in a month.

STAY SAFE FELLAS.

TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: Deaf O’Connor. 16.40. Down Royal. Whispering Pines.

Not many people know that good old Deaf O’Connor – pictured above with two of his very friendly stable boys – was a highly successful wrestler in the ’90s. Brawling under the pseudonym “The Masked Jokester,” Deaf recorded over 50 victories on the spin, all at the same time as expanding his superb singing career. Deaf took to the horse racing lark when Hulk Hogan challenged him to ride a filly. Poor old Deaf didn’t know this was the name of a wrestling hold and took The Hulkster at his word. Deaf has never looked back and will win our race with ease. He can still rumble with the best of ’em. You can celebrate with your stable boys later Deaf.

TODAY’S HRP SELECTIONS

TRIPLER

15.05 – Ascot – Alenquer. (64) – Tom Marquandquandquand is up against some serious competition, including TV commentator Brian Moore and Billy Boy Buick. The favourite, but not heavily backed, I will be going for a SPLIT.

18.25 – Newmarket – Asymmetric. (79) – Fabulous debut recently at Goodwood and I don’t think anyone will be able to match him. WIN.

20.05 – Newmarket – Peter The Great. (64) – Has pretty good form and the others will have to perform mightily to beat him. WIN.

OBAD

18.25 – Newmarket – Asymmetric. (79) – See Above.

RATCHET – Instructions for use: http://bit.ly/35tpfR

DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE – All selections are in the PLACE market unless otherwise stated. Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.) Use 10% of your Bank as stake. If a loss happens, keep to the last stake and not 10% of the new, reduced Bank.

I am also showing the early Place Odds in brackets and the number of runners and the number of horses to be placed. It’s your decision as to whether or not you take the early odds or wait, hoping they will increase. The key thing to remember is a winner/winners at odds totaling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank every month.

Please be prepared to change your line of thinking – “on the hoof” so to speak – if the odds move dramatically. They may drift, thus making the selection a “No Bet”, or the odds may steam in, making it not worth taking the risk.

If you want to, you can omit any bets with odds below 1.25 (or thereabouts) and just concentrate on the bets over those odds. This reduces the number of bets but means if you get a winner, you have hit your target and can stop betting for the day, not having to risk any more money on another race. (It also means, however, if you get a loser, there will be fewer races left to recoup any losses.)

13.00 – Redcar – Sapphires Moon. (1.26 – 10 – 3) **Be very careful – Only 7 furlongs with 10 runners. That’s just under 1 mile.**

13.30 – Redcar – Southern Voyage. (1.21 – 8 – 3)

16.40 – Down Royal – Whispering Pines. (1.08 – 12 – 3)

16.50 – Limerick – Thunder Eclipse. (1.24 – 9 – 3)

19.10 – Limerick – Rodney Bay. (1.23 – 10 – 3)

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: Roy Keane. 16.45 AND 17.55. Leopardstown. Blazing Star AND Diderot.

What more can be said about our Jockey of the Day? Because Roy is so good, he’s going to perform for us twice today. Softly spoken and a really gentle footballer in his time, Roy has taken to horse racing like a duck to WD40. Roy is such a charming gentleman, he even asks permission to go to the toilet. We have an example above of Roy asking his former boss, Dame Shiela Ferguson if it would be OK for him to go for a quick Number One. Such manners! Roy will charm his way on both steeds today and will graciously accept the Winner’s Trophies. Roy normally celebrates with a chilled bottle of Evian Sparkling Water. You’re the man Roy. Go eat ’em.

RESULT – Roy had a great race in the 16.45 and left the rest of the field in the dressing room. A great surging run from midfield Big Man. However, Roy, for some reason, forgot to ask permission for a pee halfway through the 17.55. Consequently, he peed his pants and almost slipped off the saddle. A sad last place and a pair of soiled kex. But Roy did enough to hit my target on Race 1. Thanks, Roy.

Race 1 on Tripler should have been enough to stop, and there was somewhat of a surprise when Stradivarius could only manage 4th in Race 2. Race 3 was yet another winner. OBAD supplied a winner but it was a bit iffy on Ratchet, with a 1st, 4th, and 1st.

Doc’s Fav Goldmine had a shock in Race 2 when Big Roy soiled his riding kex. However, his victory in Race 1 was enough for me to stop for the day with a lovely 3.26% profit for the day. Well on the way for a terrific month. Cheers Big Fella.
